Training Prospective Primary and Kindergarten Teachers on Electric Circuits Using Conceptual Metaphors

The awareness and use of conceptual metaphors available in ordinary language should be a relevant part teaching strategies, yet it is still rather neglected teacher education. With specific activity, we integrated class prospective kindergarten primary school teachers on electric circuits with reflection the cognitive linguistic aspects metaphor. To understand how effective this integration proved to be, both terms learning developing skills, conducted single case study mixed qualitative–quantitative methodology. Student were invited analyze discuss expressions selected from those they themselves had formulated at an earlier time. Here, present some results analysis students’ elaborations, highlighting worked metaphors. They demonstrated better understanding subject matter greater as well, particular for what concerns identifying overcoming implicit ideas.
